Both have their own implementation of layers, or being able to undo things.Albums in Elements Organizer are like physical photo albums, where you can store and organize photos in groups of your choice. The editing tools in Lightroom are more sensibly laid out in my opinion. ACDSee works like a file browser on steroids. The big pain with Lightroom is that you need to import files into your catalogue in order to work with them. No notion of exporting, because the folder you're working in has the output. The biggest difference in my opinion is that Lightroom lets you work on the originals and export a gallery to another folder for use some where else.ĪCDSee seems to have you saving the changes to the photos (it does keep backups of the originals), and leaves you with that. I also re-bought ACDSee recently because of frustrations with Lightroom, but haven't switched back because I realized it'd not only change my workflow, but also how photos are organized. I started out with ACDSee, and moved to Lightroom after hearing all of the praise. I currently own both, and use Lightroom at the moment.
